
This apartment is a few steps away from the left bank of the Seine and the Pont du Carroussel leading over the river where you can visit the Louvre. The street that it is on is the rue des Saints Peres, famous for some of the most reputable and beautiful antique shops of the city, if you walk a few blocks up, you wil be on the Boulevard Saint Germain, with its famous cafes; the Cafe de Flore and the Cafe Les Deux Magots, or the brasserie Lipp, where you can rub shoulders with writers, artists and actors who have flocked here for over a century. Walking along the beautiful riverfront, to the right you will pass by the 'Institut de France'; an incredibly beautiful building built in the 17th Century by the Cardinal de Mazarin, and the Pont des Arts, just opposite. Continue a little further and you will be at the 'Place Saint Michel' with its 'Quartier Latin' and Notre Dame de Paris; if you're in need of a book in English, you must stop off at Shakespeare & Company, an eclectic bookshop that is well worth the visit. If, however, you decide to turn left on the river bank, you will soon be at the Musee d'Orsay, a beautiful train station that was converted to a museum dedicated to impressionism, walk along a little further and you wll see the Assemblée Nationale, seat of the French government a beautiful Palladian styled building which mirrors the Church of the Madelaine on the other side of the river after the Place de la Concorde.
The apartment itself is about 80 sq. meters (861 sq. feet) on the fourth French floor of a beautiful 18th Century 'Hotel Particulier' overlooking a private courtyard. It has just been completely renovated and decorated (March 2008) to a very high standard. The whole flat has original wooden parquet floors and is bathed in light from morning to evening, due to its facing south.
Next to the entrance, to your right, there is a well-equipped kitchen with a vitro-ceramic cooking hub with three burners, a oven/microwave combi, refrigerator with separate freezer, coffee espresso machine, toaster and kettle as well as a soon-to-be installed washing machine.
The kitchen is just next to the independant dining room with seating for up to six people, which opens on to the living room with two sets of large double doors giving a sense of space and light to the whole area.
The living room also has double doors on both sides of the room and with its large windows and mirrored decorative fireplace is also very light and airy. Passing through the double doors at the other end of the living room, you will be in a small vestibule which serves as hallway for the two bedrooms, the toilet and one of the bathrooms. Both of the bedrooms are fitted with queen-sized beds (160*200), The master bedroom has an ensuite bathroom. both bathrooms are equipped with italian designed chrome fittings for their showers and sinks and beautiful wood-styled ceramic tiles. The toilet is separate.
